The CPTC New Balance mid-distance crew has been anxiously awaiting Victor Palumbo’s 5,000m opener. After setting personal bests indoor at 3,000m (8:37.17, #10 indoor all-time) and the mile (4:14.81, a 7 second PB), he’s been crushing workouts: for instance, 3 x 1600 at 4:41 average and also 10 x 400 at 60-61 average.

The wait ended on Friday, April 8th when Victor ran 14:45.50 at the Sam Howell Invitational at Princeton University. The time was a 42 second improvement on his 15:27 PB from Swarthmore last May and enough to grab #10 on the CPTC overall best list.

Victor will be back in action at Princeton on Friday, April 22nd in the 1,500m where he will look to improve on his 3:56 PB from last year.
