After an impressive indoor season that resulted in a 1:50.79 personal best over 800m (CPTC #3 all-time) and a trip to Portland to compete at the US Indoor Championships, Sean Atkinson has kicked off his outdoor season with a pair of strong performances.

On March 25th, Sean showed his strength at the Fred Hardy Invitational in Richmond, VA when he dropped a massive 10 seconds off his 1500m PB, running 4:04.07.

While his focus since indoors ended has been building endurance, don’t think he doesn’t have speed. At the Colonial Relays in Williamsburg, VA on April 1st, Sean clocked 49.56 for 400m after running 10+ miles within 24 hours of the race – an accomplishment in itself for Sean as he continues to maintain high mileage.

With this kind of strength and speed coming off a successful indoor season, expect to see some fast 800m times from Sean this spring.
