The Central Park Track Club annual awards dinner and dance will take place on Saturday, December 15th, 7pm-12:30am. It will take place at the New York City Fire Museum, 278 Spring Street. This is our social highlight of the year so please mark this in your calendars. Invites and ticket information will be sent out in the next couple of weeks..
One special thing we have planned for the occasion of our 35th year, will be some new CPTC Hall of Fame inductees. They will be selected based on the following criteria:
Outstanding performance, while a member of CPTC, over a significant period of time (generally, at least five years).
Performance can be in one or more of the following areas – track, XC, road, trail, coaching (at distances from sprints to ultra marathons).
Current Hall of Fame:
Inducted 1997: Ed Gonera, Sid Howard, Fritz Mueller, Cliff Pauling and Candy Strobach.
Inducted 2001: George Wisniewski
Inducted 2002: Jack Brennan, Frank Handelman, John Kenney and Laurie Madson.
A small committee made up of three current Hall of Fame members, headed by Frank Handelman will determine the new inductees. Suggestions can be emailed to frankhandelman at gmail.com .
