From Ani Go of the 40+:
Our masters 40+ ladies certainly represented in the mini 10k, taking 2nd place in a strong field including elites competing in the london olympics! The weather was temperamental as it always seems to be for the mini, this year’s entree being sticky and humid. Still, the ladies were ready to rumble! The great Yumi Ogita blazed the trail in 39:46 (an amazing 86.42% ag!). Jill Vollweiler got down to business coming in with 42:12, and it was close between Susan Laucius-Stamp (hello susan! 43:10) and me (43:09) as we both hit the finish line at the same time, to round up the scoring team. wonder wanda wang gave a strong performance finishing 6 seconds faster than last year’s mini with her time of 43:57.
Jacki Dixon, winner of the first mini 10k cheered us on while Nina Kuscsik (in last year’s founders tshirt!) and Kathrine Switzer ran along with us in the race.
Congrats to all the ladies in open and masters 50+!
