While we ve been running in brisk winter temperatures, one CPTC member has recently taken his running act to the mild climate of Bermuda. Longtime readers of this journal already know that this person is none other than the legendary Sid Howard. For the 28th time, Sid ran in the Fairmont to Fairmont 10K Road Race. According to local newspaper accounts, with his trademark racing style cycling cap, Sid has turned into somewhat of a celebrity on Bermuda.
For the record, Sid first visited Bermuda in 1977, and has returned ever since. As he told the Mid Ocean News: “When I first came to Bermuda I fell in love with the island. It is the island and the people especially the people and I have kept on returning.” Bermuda s leading newspaper, the Royal Gazette, even featured Sid in a full length article . The only question is, does Sid love Bermuda more than New York City??? Maybe we should only ask him this once springtime arrives…..
