Dave Blackstone has compiled the following early National and International performances by members of the Central Park Track Club:

In 1976 Kevin McDonald, a 2:19 marathoner, represented the club in the US Olympic Marathon Trials. In 1980, Pete Squires (2:19), Jack Brennan (2:20) and Sheldon Karlin (2:21) represented the club in the US Olympic Marathon Trials.

In 1978, at the age of 41, Fritz Mueller ran 2:20 in the Boston Marathon. In 1977 Richard Boudreau won the National Road Runners Club 30 K Championship. In 1979, Allen Kirik won the 52 mile London to Brighton race. In 1980, 1981 and 1982 Stu Mittleman was the National Champion and American Record Holder in the 100 mile run.

In 1973 the CPTC women s team won the National AAU Marathon Team Championship. In 1977 the CPTC men s team won both the National Road Runners Club 30K Championship and the National AAU 50K Championship. In 1980 the CPTC men s team won the 52 mile London to Brighton race.
