Congratulations to everyone who raced at Boston this past weekend. There was a four-minute PR for Chele Modica (2:52:44), sub-three-hour efforts by Eric Boucher and Martin Hak, and solid races by Emily Boucher (3:53:13), Kim Oichi (3:06:15), Allan Piket (3:24:45), and Marc Mizrahi (3:20:50).
I’d like to mention as well a truly terrific performance by Michael Rennock, who set a personal best, running four and a half minutes faster than he had in New York, and taking fifth in his division. To run 2:47:50 — 6:24 per mile pace — at the age of 50 has, of course, made Mike “ecstatic.” Executing Coach Tony’s famous 10-10-10 plan, Rennock credits the Thursday night workouts — particularly those calling for marathon pace, followed by half-marathon pace — and his regular long runs with the CPTC weekend crew as leading to his success.
