NEW YORK – The Central Park Track Club New Balance will send five athletes to the USA National Indoor Championships in Albuquerque, New Mexico on February 26-27.
CPTC New Balance’s Stephanie Herrick has qualified in the 800 meters. This will be Herrick’s second time competing at this event at USA Indoor Nationals. Herrick was a 10-time All-American for the College of New Jersey, NCAA Division III Runner-up in the 800m, and USTFCCCA National Indoor Athlete of the Year for 2008.
Joining Herrick in this weekend’s USA National Championship are teammates Cat Beck, Carlos Jamieson,
Chaz Thomas, and John Langhauser.
Cat Beck will compete in the 1500 meters this Sunday. Beck is making her second appearance at the USA Nationals in the 1500 meters. Beck was an 11-time All-American for Tufts University and a NCAA Division III Runner-up in the 1500m and 5000m.
Carlos Jamieson will also race in the 1500 meters this Sunday. Jamieson ran for American University, and in his junior year he posted a 2008 Olympic Trials “B” Qualifier time of 3:41.84.
Chaz Thomas will compete in the long jump. Thomas medaled in this event last year. Thomas was a three-time All-American for Haverford College and NCAA Division III Indoor Mid-Atlantic Field Athlete of the Year for 2009.
John Langhauser will throw the Shot Put. Like Herrick, Beck, and Thomas, this will be Langhauser’s second time competing at USA Nationals. Langhauser was Ivy League Champion in the Shot Put in 2006
and 2007.
The meet will air on ESPN2 on Sunday, February 27, at 7:30pm EST.
