As part of this very exciting running weekend, after the Olympic Trials Marathon is finished, the Bad Boy cross country races will be run later on Saturday in Van Cortlandt Park (8k for men and 5k for women). The women’s race goes off at 2:30 PM, followed by the men’s race at 3:10 PM. You can still enter on race day. Even if not running in the race, we can still come on up to Vanny to cheer on our teammates.
As an alternative to the subway, for those people who live on the East Side, you can use the MTA Bus (BxM3) to get to Van Cortlandt which you can get at several places on Madison Avenue (26th, 31st, 39th, 46th, 53rd, 62nd, 70th, 80th, 84th, and 99th). Since buses only leave every hour on Saturday, women need to take the bus that leaves 26th street at 12:15, while men could take the one an hour later at 1:15. Time schedule here. You can use your pay-per-ride metrocard and the cost is $5.00. (If you take the subway or regular bus to Madison first, the “free” transfer will work and the bus will deduct only $3.00.) The closest stops to the race are on Broadway at 244th or 251st.
