From Alysia Dusseau of the Open:
On a warm humid day our Central Park Track Club – NB ladies were able to grab second place behind NYAC in our 3rd scoring race of the year at the Brooklyn Half Marathon! I think most of us were nervous it was going to rain throughout the whole race but most of us got lucky and finished before the rain came…the rain made for a refreshing walk to baggage! Cat Beck was our first female finisher (7th overall female) by running a solid 1:17:50, while Aileen Barry ran an impressive 1:19:44. Alex Bernardi was very close to running under a 1:20 and ran a had a 2 minute 40 second PR by running a 1:20:04. Veronica Jackson (1:20:57) and Jen Busse (1:21:53) worked together in the beginning of the race which earned them each PRs by over a minute!
Cat Beck
Jacy Kruzel was able to run a strong 1:24:16 with only a short recovery from the Boston Marathon while Alysia Dusseau was happy to run most of the race with Ken! Meredith Kennedy was off her PR by minute but enjoyed running her first Brooklyn Half and loved running the end with Grace! Melanie Broder had a PR by 28 seconds which earned her a time of 1:33:48! Isabelle Fiduccia was happy to run the race pain and injury free and is looking forward to future races!

From Ani Go of the 40+:
WOMEN MASTERS 40+ TAKE 2nd PLACE!
It was a gray morning, but the conditions were nearly perfect for a great race! The 40+ ladies were ready to go, the amazing Colleen McGurk and newly master Elizabeth Lopes, on the scoring team along with the talents of Ms. Stacy Creamer (S.Creamer!) from the 50+ team!

Colleen ran her half marathon PR of 1:27:26, just missing the podium. The lady says “This was my first half-marathon in a year and I trained hard, especially during the Thursday night road workouts, but then suffered a setback 10 days ago when I agitated my hip flexor. I took the last few days off and hoped for the best. I managed to keep it at a controlled pace and was doing ok until Mile 10 when it started throbbing – but the energy of the race and amazing cheering from CPTC teammates pulled me through! I wound up with a HM PR! Thank you Brooklyn:)”.
Next up new youngling Elizabeth Lopes wrangles 1:33:44 to score second! Welcome to the masters ranks Elizabeth! Expecting more great performances from you!
And taking us to the podium finish, S.Creamer with her fiery 1:33:52, grabs the gold in her age group. Well played ladies, well played!
Participating in the cleanup was your captain, doubling as Eeyore to make sure the rain clouds were over her instead of our scoring crew and Guang Yu to flesh out a full masters team.
Congrats all around to our women and men’s masters and open teams as well!
BIG TRACK NEWS!!! Roberta Little ran a 400m on her birthday yesterday at the Twilight meet in Icahn Stadium! Not only was it her birthday, she ran her PR in that distance with a :68! What a wonderful birthday present to herself from herself!
Next up ladies: the Oakley Mini 10k on June 13! Register today!
