It was a great team effort at the Snowflake run today. The women finished first, second, and third, (and eighth and ninth) to easily win the first club points race of the year. Congratulations to Aileen Conlon for winning her first Central Park road race and moving into second place on the Club four mile top ten list with a 22:46. Right behind Aileen was Kate Irvin, and a few seconds later, Lauren Gustafson. Kate and Lauren move into the third and fourth positions on the all time list.
Ignore the NYRR website, which lists the CPTC men as coming in third. The results are incorrectly being calculated by time, not by place (as they were earlier in the day). The CPTC men came in SECOND. This is a perfect example of why more than the top five can affect the team scoring. Because FIFTEEN CPTC men finished ahead of Warren Street s fifth man, the club finished ahead of Warren Street for second by seven points.
