OK, so this weekend we have the 100th running of the Millrose Games at Madison Square Garden on Friday night, we have the two-day New Balance Collegiate Invitational at the Armory on Friday and Saturday afternoon, we have the Night of Sprints meet on Saturday night, and finally we have the annual Gridiron Classic 4 mile road race in Central Park (I liked it better as a 5k) on Super Bowl Sunday morning.

Nike Central Park Track Club runners will be competing in ALL of these events. At the Garden we have the 4 X 400 masters men and women running at Millrose, we have two distance medley relay teams running on Friday afternoon at the Armory, we have four (that’s right, four) CPTC women running in the open 800 on Saturday afternoon, and we of course, will have many runners braving the cold in the 4 mile on Sunday morning.

Tickets are still available for Millrose and you don’t want to miss this event. Tirunesh Dibaba, fresh from her world indoor record in the 5000 (14:27.42) last week, will be running in the first ever Millrose Games women’s 3000 meters against Sara Hall and Jen Rhines. Alan Webb will be running against Bernard Lagat, Craig Mottram, and Chris Lukezic in the Wanamaker Mile. The meet will be televised live on ESPN2 from 7:00 – 9:00 PM on Friday, and on tape Saturday afternoon on NBC from 2:00 – 3:00 PM. Oh, and there’s also some sort of football game being played Sunday night, after all of the real athletes have finished competing for the weekend.
