Runners know that any record is made to be broken. Our own Chris Solarz, working together with his friend and colleague Matt Ferrisi, has set a new Guiness world record by stopping at all 468 stations in the New York subway system in 22 hours and 51 minutes. We salute his methodical training regimen, which included computer simulations, “dry runs,” and expert platform positioning. The only thing Solarz couldn’t plan for, apparently, was a 2 a.m. delay on the G train. Those of us who live in Brooklyn could have predicted that one.
