NEW YORK – Heather Miller of Central Park Track Club New Balance has been selected by Team USA to compete in the prestigious Thorpe Cup in Germany on July 21-22.
Miller will compete in the heptathlon against Germany. This is her first appearance on an international team for the United States. Miller’s selection to Team USA was based on her top ten performance at the US Olympic Trials in Eugene last month.
Miller was the NCAA Division II National Pentathlon Champion in 2010 and set the Division II National Pentathlon Record at that meet. Miller was also named NCAA Central Region Female Field Athlete of the Year for 2010. Miller was a 10 Time All-American for St. Cloud University before moving to New York City in the fall of 2010.
Central Park Track Club New Balance, a not-for-profit organization founded in 1972, develops NYC athletes for national and international competitions in track and field and long distance running.
